As part of the larger Boston Square Together project, the new Community Hub invests in the historically underserved Boston Square neighborhood through access to amenities and services previously not available to residents. The two-story Hub features a 240-person event space, programming space for Amplify GR, a community cafe, an 80-slot childcare center ran by Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative and a clinic operated by Corewell Health. The first phase of the project includes a demolition and renovation to the existing building, previously home to the Living Word Christian Center. As part of Phase 1, our team raised the roof four feet to accommodate a second floor. The second phase includes new construction. An estimated 25-30% of the construction was performed by local and minority-owned contractors.
