The People Behind Precision Services
Behind every Precision Services project is a team of builders, problem-solvers and craftspeople committed to doing the job the right way. Rockford's Precision Services Team (PST) brings together field leadership, skilled trades and project management expertise to tackle projects that demand flexibility, responsiveness and an exceptional level of care.
From occupied renovations and tenant improvements to complex interior transformations, PST delivers high-quality work with minimal disruption. Team members earn that trust every day by taking pride in their craft, finding solutions, working safely and creating spaces where people and organizations can thrive.
Meet three of the people who help make that possible.
Brent Satterlee: Driving Projects Forward
Over his 14 years with Rockford, Brent Satterlee has built a reputation for leading complex projects with confidence and consistency. As a superintendent, he coordinates field work, maintains quality standards and keeps projects on track from start to finish.
His experience spans projects of all sizes, having served as both a leader and a skilled carpenter throughout his career. That versatility gives him a practical understanding of the challenges teams face in the field and helps him identify solutions early.
For Satterlee, one of PST's greatest strengths is its integrated approach.
"It offers customers an all-in-one design/manage/build option to save on costs and make the whole process more seamless."
By bringing planning, project management and construction together under one team, PST can move quickly, streamline decision-making and maintain momentum throughout a project's lifecycle.
Among his most notable projects are the BDO Grand Rapids office build-out and Gimme's Par & Grill, both of which challenged the team to deliver creative solutions while maintaining high quality.'
"We embody all of Rockford's values daily through design, problem-solving and safely working as a team to provide our clients with a beautiful space to thrive in."
Zach Deforest: Leading Through Craftsmanship
Zach Deforest joined Rockford more than six years ago as a carpenter and has steadily grown into leadership roles across PST projects. His combination of hands-on trade experience and field leadership allows him to support both the work itself and the people performing it.
Whether coordinating field activities or helping solve challenges onsite, Deforest helps ensure projects move efficiently without compromising quality.
"My role helps support PST by being a leader and somebody who can answer questions onsite as needed."
He believes a practical, solutions-focused approach sets PST apart. Team members are deeply involved in both planning and execution, so they can anticipate issues early and respond quickly when conditions change.
Two projects that stand out in Deforest's career are the Pantlind Hotel and Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore — Dream Lab renovations. The latter remains especially meaningful because of its impact on the community.
"It was a great example of the Precision Services Team coming together to help create a beautiful space for people to enjoy, especially because it's giving back to children and providing them somewhere to express themselves."
Malcolm Lewis: Always Ready to Step In
As a carpenter on the Precision Services Team, Malcolm Lewis brings a team-first mentality to every project. His responsibilities vary from day to day, from carpentry work and temporary protection to site logistics and project support. Wherever help is needed, he's ready to step in.
That adaptability reflects the culture he values most within PST.
"It's family-oriented, supportive of growth and stability. Its purpose is to bring people together to create a lasting impression through the work we provide."
Lewis believes one of PST's greatest strengths is its ability to stay accessible and responsive, helping build strong client relationships while consistently delivering quality work.
One project that stands out for him is SILVA, which showcased the collaboration, craftsmanship and commitment that define the team.
"PST continuously works to get things done right and in a timely fashion. We think safety first and focus on doing the right thing."
Built Around People
While their roles differ, Satterlee, Deforest and Lewis each live out three of Rockford’s values daily: Own Your Craft, Win as a Team and Do the Right Thing. This approach allows PST to successfully navigate projects that require a higher level of coordination, flexibility and attention to detail.
Their commitment to quality craftsmanship, proactive problem-solving and strong client service is what makes Precision Services a trusted partner for organizations across West Michigan and beyond.
