Rockford renovated the façade of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel while the hotel remained fully open and operational. This project involved the replacement of approximately 96,500 sq. ft. of curtain wall with a panelized system that delivers a more modern look along with energy-efficiency benefits. Rockford took an innovative approach to this project, adopting a top-down method to the renovation which allowed the building to remain open and minimize the number of rooms that needed to be taken off-line. This process also minimized moisture into the building.

The building’s iconic sloped roof was maintained, rising by 10 feet, and was enhanced by an added colored LED lighting system. The top floor also received a complete renovation to its restaurant; guest rooms now feature floor-to-ceiling glass, enhancing views for hotel guests.
