The Heart and Vascular Center provides nearly 50,000 sq. ft. of cutting-edge exam, treatment and consultation space for vascular imaging and ultrasound, echo/stress testing, patient education, hospitality and dietary support, and administrative and provider facilities. A Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit was also incorporated into the design to provide patients with onsite support through recovery, reducing the need to travel across the state to University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, MI. Construction was completed while the surrounding University of Michigan Health-West campus was in full operation. Special consideration was taken to limit impact to adjacent services, and required early and frequent communication between Rockford, University of Michigan Health-West and the Design Team.
