Construction Safety Week has been celebrated every May since 2014 with the goal of encouraging everyone in the industry to be safety leaders. During this week-long event, participants across the industry come together to share best practices, provide resources and support, increase awareness and celebrate the efforts, initiatives and individuals that help create safe working environments. The week serves as a reminder that safety is a shared responsibility and that we are truly all in together when it comes to protecting one another.
Central to Rockford’s core values is Think Safety First. Nothing matters more to us than making sure our crews get home safely to their families every day. Safety is not just a set of rules; it is a mindset built into everything we do, from planning and preconstruction to execution in the field. That mindset thrives when we recognize hazards, respond proactively and treat one another with respect.
This Construction Safety Week, we proudly align with the theme “All in Together,” which centers on three guiding principles: Recognize, Respond and Respect. Throughout the week, our Safety team will bring these principles to life through several initiatives and events, including daily toolbox talks, jobsite visits, Procore webinars, fall protection training and a Smoke and Safety Luncheon with our trade partners on one of our jobsites. Each of these efforts reinforces our commitment to Think Safety First while supporting a culture where everyone plays an active role in keeping one another safe.

“Construction Safety Week is a focused opportunity to emphasize that when it comes to safety, we are truly all in together,” said Director of Safety and Risk Management Paul Rozich. “We work in a high-hazard industry, and this week provides an important opportunity to share best practices, discuss both mental and physical safety, increase hazard recognition and reinforce respect for every worker on our projects.”
While Construction Safety Week gives us a dedicated moment to pause and reflect, our commitment to safety extends far beyond one week. It carries through every project, every phase and every day of the year. By recognizing hazards, responding with care and respecting one another on every jobsite, we strengthen a culture where Think Safety First is how we look out for each other every day. At Rockford, being All in Together means continuing to lead with safety, supporting our teams and partners and ensuring every person goes home safely.
We encourage everyone on our projects to actively participate this week: ask questions, speak up about concerns and look out for one another — because safety works best when we are all in together.
