For some, living in a studio apartment is not ideal. The available space is typically small, and as Americans, we like to have a lot of “stuff.” I’ve found that maximizing your use of space is made much easier with the help of Amazon.
The online retail agency launched a section on their website full of small-space solutions for areas throughout your home. This special section is divided into five rooms: entryway, living room, kitchen, dining space and bedroom. And while this section was designed with homeowners in mind, some of the tips and tricks provided are helpful for anyone living in a downtown apartment.
According to Amazon, a primary tip to maximize space when living in a smaller apartment is to use multi-purpose furniture. For example, a lift-top coffee table is a great solution for adding storage and creating a workspace in any living area.

Small-space solutions, such as multi-use furniture, are perfect for studio apartments.
In my studio apartment, I have a nightstand that has a lift-top for storage. I have found this piece of furniture to be useful for my charging cords, books and many other items. It makes the items easily accessible and keeps my apartment neat.
Sofa beds or futons are also great for living areas because they can be used for guests to sleep on or for a living room couch. Today, sofa beds are so common that they come in nearly any shape, size or color imaginable. I found a perfectly sized white futon on Amazon that folds up and down easily and is extremely comfortable to sit or lay on. Having a futon instead of a regular couch in my studio apartment has made it much more inviting for a friend to come over. I needed another piece of furniture that a guest and I could hang out on and watch television or chat, and the futon was perfect.
