Whether you’ve lived in Grand Rapids your whole life, moved here for your education or your career, or are just passing through, it’s easy to see why the city is a thriving and engaging place to be. Grand Rapids offers the feel of big city life with exciting venues for concerts, sports teams, comedy shows, theatrical productions, coffee shops, local markets, and numerous new bars and restaurants that open each year. The city is packed with growth and excitement, yet somehow also maintains the quaint, comfortable feeling of small-town suburbia. The “hybrid community” that this combination creates is rare and is a large part of the reason so many young professionals and new families desire to live in or near downtown.
While I’ve lived in the Grand Rapids area since I was born, this is the first year that I’ve lived in an apartment in the heart of downtown. As I sought to finish the last year of my graduate school program, it was important that my living situation be as convenient and stress-free as possible. It’s evident that Rockford loves investing in Grand Rapids and wants nothing more than to see it thrive. I am proud to live in a downtown community that supports and appreciates the City of Grand Rapids as much as I do.
