Around GR: World of Winter 2022

By Bailey Bowns, Rockford Property Management Resident

World of Winter has returned for its fifth year. This year, the festival runs through March 6, and all the activities are free. Yep, that’s right. Free! The festival encourages people to take advantage of the winter weather and explore downtown Grand Rapids. There are several interactive art installations to see, including the Light Maze, Submergence, Trumpet Flowers and Crank Zappa Jellyfish.

Rockford Property Management - World of Winter 2022

Crank Zappa Jellyfish is a sculpture made from plastic waste. This waste includes plastic bags, straws and bottles. The sculpture is intended to inform viewers about pollution.

Submergence allows viewers to walk through hundreds of lights and immerse themselves in the exhibit. Most of the exhibits include lights, making it best to view them at dusk.

Be sure to check out World of Winter before it concludes in just a few weeks!
