Recent Construction of a Cardiovascular Center

According to the American Heart Association’s 2017 Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics, about 92.1 million American adults are living with some form of cardiovascular disease or the after-effects of stroke. Rockford's construction of the Metro Health Heart and Vascular Center supports the healing work of Metro Health as they offer expert cardiovascular care to help treat and prevent cardiovascular diseases.

The project Rockford completed — which consisted of a two-story building and 99,000 sq. ft. garden level addition connecting to the main hospital — includes 53,486 sq. ft. of heart and vascular space, with cardiac and pulmonary rehab space. Targeted to achieve LEED certification, the building also features conference and office areas, surgeon sleep rooms, a library, and common space.

In the midst of this project, Rockford was also awarded a surgical suite expansion on the first floor of the existing hospital. The addition includes equipment storage, changing rooms, a vendor entrance and new state-of-the-art surgery lounge, dining room, kitchen, conference room and support spaces. Throughout all phases of construction, the building and site remained fully occupied. Rockford's detailed safety and logistical efforts ensured that each phase of each project was completed with little inconvenience to Metro Health team members, patients, and visitors.
